postpartum makes me want to eat like a Richard Simmons woman.

I could be on one of his sob story testimonials...."i eat to fill my feeeeeeeeeeeeelingsssss!"

I'm serious, though.  The second I have a moment to myself, I want to close my eyes and make love to some pizza and fast food.  sometimes sweets, too!  It's so terrible.  When I'm sad and lonely and depressed and TIRED... it's a combination for a food bomb in my face!

This happens every.single.time.

I lose about 20 pounds when I'm pregnant and around 6 weeks pp, I start losing myshit.

:(

  • can you try to go for a walk when you feel that way? it will help, though i know it's the LAST thing you would want to do.  if you are feeling really bummed out, maybe try meds/ therapy to even things out for a bit?

  • OMG, I am totally with you on this.  Add in my recent switch to SAHM and I am in the pantry all damn day.  The fact that after my initial post-baby weight loss I am up three pants sizes is NOT helping.

Miraculously, (and i hesitate to even say it out loud!)... my anger issues with my postpartum anxiety/depression has lifted a lot in the past week.  I don't know why, but I'm walking on egg shells hoping SO MUCH that it's gonig to stay away!!  My Dr. gave me an Rx for a new drug called Viibryd, but I'm scared to wean off my Celexa in order to try something completely new.  As long as the anger stays at bay, I'm going to try to avoid the new script.  I actually went for a walk with the kids in the new double stroller this morning, so that is a big improvement.  But, as soon as Emelia started screaming her head off for a half hour after that, I make pizza bagels and ate 3 of them. IndifferentCrying fuhk.

  • Aw Missy.  I can't relate to the PPD, but I can relate to anger and exercise helps me a ton.  And, hey, if you happen to scream 'Faaack!' mid-walk, so be it.  Wear sunglasses if you need to cry on the walk.

I always read that the sads set in for a while for a lot of people.  You can kick this in the asss.

Do you have an iPod or the like to jam out to on your walk?  A little Kanye West?

I really should TOTALLY do this when H gets home from work several times a week.  Alone.  I NEVVVVERRRRRR go anywhere alone.  Like, ever.  It's so weird.  I don't even realize it until I think about it.

  • On Missy, I'm sending you hugs.  I find pregnancy and post partuum messed with my appetite and mood a ton too. Do what you need to do.  You can make it through.
