I took my cat to the vet today and aside from being a little fat, he was perfect! He didn't hiss or claw and we had no problem getting him back in his cage after his vaccinations. I was so proud! It made me laugh that I had such a feeling of pride for my cat

I guess I am now one of those cat ladies that talks about her cat as if it were her baby. No point to this post except to say that I'm proud of my kitty, Briac!
Re: Furbabies
Stories about taking cats to the vet always remind me of the one time that my dad was trying to get one of our cats in the carrier to take her to the vet. After a long time of trying (and my dad is a very patient man), he finally gave up and took another cat (we had three). Now, if this had just been a check-up that wouldn't have been a big deal because they all had to go in sometime. But it was because the cat was sick, so... um... what?
I always try to picture how that conversation went: "So, one of our cats is sick." "Ok, let me take a look." "Well, actually it's not this one, but I couldn't get the sick one in the carrier, so I brought one of the others." "
"
I have a baby and another on the way and STILL think of my cat as my baby.
Hooray for a good appointment!
**Meow Meow** Good Kitty!
Please, a successful trip to the vet is totally brag-worthy. Heck, when people at restaurants/hotels say Lucy is well-behaved, I gush.... 'she's adopted and so she's just naturally well-behaved, I've done nothing.' It's creepy, I admit it! But still it always makes me feel good (and contributes to the delusion that my dog is the most perfect dog ever).
Way to go, kitty! What kind/colour is it?! I really miss my kitty in America. We have 3 here (well they are MILs, but I see them enough!) lol (oh and the female is having kittens..yay!), but I still really miss my black kitty!!!
And Kelly that is a FUNNY story! lol
Briac is a grey tiger striped short-hair. I will only get the cats with those markings because my first cat was like that. I think once you get hooked on a certain type of cat, it is hard to change!
Awww, that's so sweet! I miss my kitty Dafne so much. That's her in my siggy, next to my mom's dog. I remember when we had to take her to the vet we had to pull the carrier out a few days in advance to let her get acquainted with it. She would go hide for a solid 24 hours on the first day that thing was out. I'd really love to adopt but everything vet-related is so expensive here, I'm not sure we can afford a cat right now. Plus in this building there's a $1K cat security deposit fee for cat owners
