Three FIV+ kittens in need of placement.

I don't post here much anymore, but a friend shared this on FB, and I thought I could spread the word here.  Look at that face!

From Tree House Humane Society in Chicago:

We are still looking for a foster or adoptive home for three Feline Leukemia Virus positive kittens! They are about 11-12 weeks old now and getting very depressed in their cage. Of course, they are getting attention and love from our staff, but it doesn't compare to a home. Please spread the word and help us find them a home! Here's some good information about the Feline Leukemia Virus: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/brochures/felv.html.

Three Sweet, Non-Symptomatic FeLV+ Kittens are STILL Looking for Foster or Permanent Home!

A few weeks ago we admitted four newborn kittens whose mother had been hit by a car. They went into a foster home and were doing really well. However, at a recent check up we did blood work and they tested positive for the Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). Since we last wrote one of the kittens crashed and had to be humanely euthanized, but the other three are still non-symptomatic and doing well. We do not have the ability to safely and efficiently provide long-term housing for FeLV+ kitties at either of our facilities, so we are looking for a long-term foster or adoptive home for them. These kittens will come with a medical contract to provide wellness care (vaccines, blood work, check-ups, etc.) at our clinic. Right now they are non-symptomatic and are eating well. One of these adorable kittens, Mulg, is pictured.

Please contact us at (773) 784-5488 ext. 0 if you are able to take them into your home!

  • Ugh this is why we don't test kittens.  I would contact Marley Fund and see if they can post on their Facebook page looking for fosters.  OR suggest to them that they send out for IFA to see if they're actually positive.
