Will cooking meatballs a second time after freezing make them more tender?

I made meatballs to freeze for DS' birthday party.  I usually cook them for sveral hours in the sauce but just did them for 2 hours today so they would have a chance to cool before freezing.  They were a little more firm than I like.

I plan on serving them in a crockpot- if I let them cook in there for several hours before the party will they be more tender?

Sometimes I do find that the crockpot will make them more tender. It's worth trying.

I always make a big batch of meatballs and freeze them, but I bake them without sauce. I individually freeze on cookie sheet first. When I want to use them, I take how many out I want and throw in a big pot of sauce to slow cook. I assume you can do the same in a slow cooker. they come out GREAT and very tender.
