As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

I dunno. FB and Twatter weirdness aside, I think there are appealing parts of the new format. From what I remember, it made picture uploading easier--you could do it from your harddrive--and had some nice features with text formatting?
Whatever. As long as I don't get demoted to a noob I'll be OK

so much to hate about the new format. I was hoping to see some of the feedback they have gotten about the locals taken seriously before doing the nationals, besides the social media.

Yeah on the posts I make I can only 'quote.' 'edit,' or 'reply,' but not actually DD anymore. It sort of sucks, but it's not like I used it too much.

I actually wouldn't mind this, as I've grown slightly embarrassed about how long I've been here. Maybe this will be the kick in the pants I need to move along.

My recollection is that it was harder to Nest from my phone with the new format than with this one, which would be The Suck since about 95% of my interwebs activity is done from my phone. Throw in the inability to see the posts via most recent reply and phone Nesting may not be worth the effort.
With that said, I'm full of sh*t if I think I'll give up the board. I once came back after being away from over a year, FFS. I need Nest rehab.

The new format/coding is all wonky on my work computer too and when I try to respond, the reply box is about the size of half my pinky so I can't see what I'm typing, I also emailed the nest gods about this and they said they'd get back to me.
That was a month or two when the local boards switched over. Shortly after that my local made a proboards site and it's awesome. No errors, search function works, everyone is defaulted to reading the board in bump mode.
I really do try to be understanding about changes and in the past they haven't been a big deal, but on the new format I can't nest from my phone or from work. Uhhh... that's 98% of the time I'm on the nest. It really sucks.
Try turning JavaScript off.
I am always slightly in awe of the way this very bad forum with many poorly thought out features keeps getting upgrades that make it worse. It is truly remarkable, when you think about it. Im not even being snarky - it is genuinely like whoever makes the final decision has never actually heard of the internet.
There is a slogan I used for my record label sometimes that fits right here:
"The Nest - making today worse, so tomorrow seems better"
I just tested on a local board and I can post from my phone but the response box is indeed strangely small and the inability to sort by last post SUCKS. It's a wall of confusion with the mixture of old and new "most recent" responses.
Somebody please tell me the sort option is there and I just don't see it. Threads are going to die quick deaths if they just get pushed down the page.
I did. That's how I respond now, but it doesn't work with the new format.
