Hey fellow Splendid lover! Why you holdin' out on me? I went to the OOTD post to see the new stuff you got and you didn't post!
I wanna seeeeeee! ;-)
Re: **FormerCityGirl**
I'm sorry! I had a 3 hour eye appointment to find out no Lasik for me. Ick. I'll post them in there now. I was just pulling them up. I'm still recovering from the Betsy Bankruptcy and now no JCrew/Manolo collaboration news.
I'll post them there now.
Yay! I'll go look.
Also boooo for no Lasik :-(. Sorry that won't be working out for you.

They are up now. I'm so bummed about the Lasik since it was supposed to be a Birthday gift from DH. I've tried contacts with very little success, but looks like we go that route for now since the FDA hasn't approved the procedure that I need to repair the problem that takes me out for Lasik.
BTW, what type of area/place is Joe's on Weed (Street) in there? I've never been to that one. I'm thinking about surprising a friend's band there in June and would have to go on my own since DH is working the entire month. They're starting to hit big and I want to catch them as often as possible before they really make it and I have to shell out for tickets. Lol! The guys have been begging me to come to a show there since it's about 90 minutes from my parents. One of them always walks me out, but getting in at night may be the issue.
Oooh I LOVE those dresses! I may have to snatch one up! I usually wear a XS in Splendid stuff...and you said it may be wise to size up...are they super clingy?
That's such a bummer about the eye stuff. I couldn't wear contacts either (super painful), but was able to get Lasik a few years ago. Hopefully the FDA approves that procedure someday soon for you!!
Joe's is fun! A friend of mine has performed there a few times. Its a relatively casual place, and they have a really nice outdoor space. I've walked in on my own at night and felt fine. Its near the North/Clybourn red line station, so there's always people around. Joe's itself is kind of on a side street though, so its just a block or so from the main drag, but there's a bunch of other places on the same block as Joe's so its usually pretty lively.

I had a feeling you'd like them. If you're familar with the sizing and materials I think you would be safe going with what you usually do. They are light and clingy, but I find that's typical with the brand. I always wash in cold and hang their stuff to dry which keeps it from shrinking. There's always that one person who doesn't follow care instructions though (making it shrink lol) and the reviews say TTS/order up for length, but don't expect a lot more length. I really love the color of the top one since it's grayish/lilac IRL. The other one is a nice dark gray and not heathered making it a little dressier than a heather would. Be careful with the slit if you're taller since taller reviewers said the slit was too much to wear other than a skirt. Shopbop returns policies are pretty easy though so you should be safe either way.
Thanks for the info about Joe's. I think I'm going to try to make their show if I can. It sounds like it could be fun since they are a very lively bunch on their own.
I've got a few friends that are optometrists and I plan to have them check into the new procedure. That looks like a good option once they approve it.
Good to know about the sizing. I wash my splendid stuff the same way you do, so I should be good. I'm also a shorty (5'3") so the length shouldn't be an issue.
No prob! Out of curiosity, what's the name of the band?
Oh good! Glad you've got the inside scoop with that! It always helps!

Replied!!
Thanks...yeah I haven't really veered toward the maxi skirt yet. I've seen some I liked, but I just haven't gone through with it haha. I saw an AMAZING green pleated one by BCBG I think at Macy's yesterday, and then when I got up close and touched it, I noticed it was actually PANTS! Just hanging there I wouldn't have known it was pants, lol. I keep thinking about them though and kinda wish I would have tried them on, just to see...but I also think how annoying all that extra fabric would be.
