So today my perfume sampler came. (It's this one -- http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/beauty-gift/19971985.jsp)
KHC was like, "What is that?" And I told him it was perfume in little bottles that I wanted to try.
Dude was excited. So we went upstairs to his room and tried on all the different perfumes and debated the pros and cons of each one. We decided we loved Field Notes From Paris and Chemical Bonding and we absolutely loathed Gilded Lily, which smells like grandmas.
And then he wanted to put some on. So that is why I have a six-year-old who smells like coriander, pipe tobacco and leather.
H was amused by all of this. Less amused by walking into KHC's room to read him books at bedtime. He came downstairs and was like, "It smells like what I imagine a very expensive whorehouse smells like up there."
Re: Gender roles
Will has to try on every tutu I make. He's kind of obsessed with them. A lot. I love how they have no clue what gender they're "supposed" to be and can just have fun.
Exhibit A:
***poof***
Exhibit B: (he's shoving a small Woody from Toy Story down the tutu.) (This is the one I made for Jermy's Edith)

Exhibit C:

That is awesome!
DD1 always wants to wear daddy's perfume (he wears something every day, but not always the same thing) She much prefers cologne to any of my perfumes. He also wears the good stuff and I wear mostly the smell of soap or shampoo.
cbwn, Can I commission you to make a tutu for my niece? She's 6 going on 7.
My SIL owns a spa. Her H is a racecar driver, lives in the garage type guy. My 14 year old niece and her friend go to the track with him and can't wait to get old trucks to fix up. (like Bella's truck lol). My 3 year old nephew is up on all the latest nail polish colors and his mani pedi is impeccable at all times.
And lol at your H.
LOL, absolutely.
KHC sounds like he's so much fun.
At dinner, I asked DD if she was a boy-child or a girl-child (spin off of her Jungle Book obsession) and she opted for boy-child. H raised his arms in victory and announced that he would not be outnumbered.
