This chick in the Pregnant in Heels preview is killing me.
"I don't believe in immunizations" ok, fine. but then she goes on to say "Who do you know that has Polio?" As if this is the great cornerstone of her argument. ::head desk::
Re: This chick in the Pregnant in Heels preview is killing me.
And sad because she thinks she is making some grand, insightful point. And it is all captured on film for all time.
Me second grade teacher had it and the fingers on her left hand were permanently bent.
I wish every anti-immunization argument was that easy. "Why I have two aunts with polio. And I have family members who have survived pertussis, german measles, mumps, rubella and more. I believe in infectious disease."
Polio is one of those diseases that affects you for the rest of your life. Even if you survive the initial infection with limited disability, it comes back to haunt you as you get older.
My uncle had back surgery, so his spine is fussed and it has a curve, so he can't stand completely straight. He kind of tilts to one side, but he was very lucky. Some of the kids in his town who had Polio ended up in wheel chairs and some of them died.
My uncle did as well.
