What'd you think of last night's episode?
It feels like they are leading down the path of a Barney and Quinn split. I feel as if they can't resolve his feelings towards her job and she doesn't want to quit quick enough for a wedding in a few weeks, KWIM? But in the same line, how could they re-kindle a Barney/Robin fire so quickly? Unless, the birth of Marshall and Lily's baby brings them together or makes Barney realize how much he really loves Quinn?
I hated the Ted story line seeing Robin in all of his dates and whatnot. It just didn't feel right. I know Ted's confused about what he wants but it didn't work me for me.
I wish I knew where they were going with it all.
Re: HIMYM 4-30 *SP*
DH and I were laughing that when Ted and the "palette cleanse" were lying in bed, Ted should have been all "and kids, that's how I met your mother."
Not really, but funny to think about.
Boooorrriiinnnggg.
Barney was super-annoying with the constant, "Waaah, my girlfriend's a stripper and I hate it" crap. Break up with her if you don't like it, dude. And it pissed me off that he's all hung up on her stripping, but meanwhile he was having sex with hundreds of random women before this (sometimes under really scummy circumstances, like tricking them into sleeping with him) and nobody's said a peep about that.
I won't be surprised if Barney ends up proposing to Quinn in the season finale, but I'm betting she'll turn him down. Or she'll accept the proposal then back out later, but Robin ends up being the bride. I think it's possible to re-kindle Barney/Robin after that, because they still harbor feelings for each other, and because they know each other well enough to just get right back into a relationship and maybe even get married. There's no "getting to know you" phase with them ... at this point they're either in love or they're not. And I think Robin is the bride based on Ted being asked to go talk to the bride in the wedding scene.
Marshall's been a colossal d0uche for the past couple episodes. He's always been All About Lily and keeping her happy, and I get that he's nervous about becoming a father, but he's just been so selfish lately.
The resolution of the flashforward to the ducky tie and the Marshall + Steph t-shirt was just stupid. They really just threw that storyline together at the last minute. I guess they included the ducky tie in the original flashforward because they never had a plan for if/when Barney would stop wearing it, and they just figured they'd make something up for the t-shirt when they got around to writing this episode. Boo.
Ted's been even whinier than usual. GTFover Robin already, guy. Now you're just being a pathetic loser.
The jokes in this episode just weren't funny. Especially since we could see every one coming from a mile away.
I've been getting tired of Robin and Ted coming together and falling apart only to come back together. Robin doesn't want kids one way or the other and Ted does, so it is pointless for them to pursue a romantic relationship. They need to accept that they aren't going to work out.
Marshall was a little annoying but I actually enjoyed the casino scene.

I think I read somewhere that Lily has the baby in the next episode (season finale), but the wedding scene is a flash-forward, so it's not like both even are happening at the same time. Who knows how far ahead they flash-forward? Is it just a few weeks or up to a few years?
It wasn't the best episode, but I did like the condolence high 5!
I cannot agree more. I hate this story line.
I was happy to see them setting up Barney and Quinn for a break up because I am all for Barney and Robin.
Yes, Lily has the baby in the season finale, which is a one-hour/two-part episode set for May 14.
I guess it depends on whether they want to introduce The Mother before the series finale or not. The wedding's definitely not going to be anytime soon, because in the prior wedding flash-forwards Lily's had time to lose the baby weight.
If Barney's wedding is set for September 2012, then they could just skip the whole summer and pick up exactly where they left off in the season 8 premiere (just like they did for the season 6 finale when Lily found out she was pregnant ... they skipped over Summer 2011 and only referred to it in the flashback episode about Hurricane Irene, when the baby was conceived). Then we could have a whole season to see Ted and The Mother dating.
Or they could have the wedding be in May 2013, and season 8 could be Barney and Quinn preparing for the wedding, or Barney and Robin getting back together. And they could just show us The Mother really quick and we won't get to see them date. Or maybe they won't even show us her face at all.
This is how I've been thinking it will go.
This episode was just okay. I agree that it was all very predictable and I am getting very annoyed with the hey did you know my girlfriend is a stripper/I can't date a stripper cr@p Barney's been spouting for the last month.
I really don't understand why Barney's dating a stripper.
I wish Ted and Robin would get back together.
This episode was really suspenseful at the end.
