Thinking of giving up TN....
Maybe it's just my mood today, but it seems to me that TN just isn't what it used to be. The boards have slowed down, there are constantly spammers, all these weird format changes, they have no consideration for our privacy, etc. Maybe I'll take a break and see how I feel. Anybody else feel this way?

I just took a break; I gave it up for Lent this year, and I did last year as well. Sometimes it's good to step away.
But to swear off for good, and talk of ye olde nest days? Meh. There have always been format changes, privacy scares, slow days, and annoying posters every now and then. It kind of comes with the territory. There's some good and some bad.
Just do what feels right to you. For some people that's breaks, for some it's new screen names periodically, for some this just isn't the place for them.
I agree. I have taken many breaks but I always come back. There will always be changes and people will always get up in arms about them....then we get used to it. Do what is best for you!
With summer coming I'll be around less. I've been around less to just do to work and child. It is a bit dull lately but I still learn so much here I can't stay away!
It's also my guilty pleasure (I don't do much else on the internet) and I don't read much more in the nest than that. There will always be crazies, people that hate me, people that disagree with me and changes.
The privacy thing is a bit weird, but then I realized Google, FB and everything else does it too. I've just reached the point that if the Nest wants to share where I shop for curtains or what Kranikan I and II are up to so be it. And if someone else on google is bored enough to read that I got new dishware and painted the bedroom..meh..whatever.
I've been around here long enough to know it all comes full circle.
If the nest is starting to get to me IRL...it's when I know it's time to take a break.
I have missed it terribly due to work being such a nightmare. I was so glad to come back.
I think that since I removed my wedding picture from my signature and gave up my blog (due to being too BUSY to blog) that my privacy is more secure that way on things like Google. Plus I haven't "liked" TN on facebook so there's no connection for me there.
