Will clarisonic help with congested skin?

I'm thinking of getting the mia( 20%off at skinstore.com). My main issue is my skin is congested and looks dull. Will the Mia help? I also have skin that can be easily irritated if Im not careful, so I was thinking of getting the delicate head. Is that the best way to go?Thanks!

Re: Will clarisonic help with congested skin?

  • Yes, it very likely could help.  The Clarisonic basically just does a really good job cleaning your face, helping to remove excess oil and sebum that causes congested skin.  I had good skin before I started using the Mia, so I honestly haven't noticed much difference, but I know that a lot of people with problem skin have seen a drastic improvement.

That's a new one on me too. I'm assuming "congested skin" means clogged pores?

I googled it, lol.  I assumed it means clogged pores as well, but it also means whiteheads and uneven skin.

  • To the OP, Retin-a would probably help the most with congested skin.

Get a good hour long spa facial.  I just got one and my skin is decongested.
  • I heard congested skin first time at the spa I went to get a microderm a few days ago, I was describing that I was looking to unclogg my pores and she used the term congested instead of clogged pores.
  • just think of cold medication:  congestion = clogged sinuses.  so in derm speak, congestion = clogged pores.

and to the OP, yes, the clarisonic can help with congested skin.  i have severely congestion-prone skin.  my mom has extreme pock-mark acne scars, and i have definitely inherited some of those genes.  i'd highly recommend a few things in addition to the clarisonic:

    1) using some Rx products from a derm (my current regimen includes tretinex twice a week at night, and duac on the other nights.  it is working wonders.  but everybody's skin reacts differently.)

    2) boscia's makeup breakup (or any brand of "dry oil" cleanser) in the evenings, before regular cleansing

    good luck!
