BowerPower's office reveal

I really like it!  Again, if I ignore her actual writing, I can very much appreciate the design of this room.  The paint makes SUCH a huge difference!  And I like her pops of color.  YHL could learn a thing or two from that red chair.

Sorry I can't seem to PIP.  What do you think of it?

  • Let's see if I can get PIP to work:

  • wow!! huge difference! I love it! Curtains will definitely "finish" it and I hope she adds a fun rug too. I'd work in that office anytime! I really love how she re-used all the furniture in the room. I need to get better at doing that.

  • Sorry some of the pics aren't showing up on my work comp.  Don't know if it's me or not.

I love it.  I love how she used the nook for sewing and craft storage.

I really enjoy her blog.  She may overshare and her writing isn't the best, but that she puts things together that I would say 90% of the time I would do myself (burlap walls are a bit much for me).

  • I love it, what a transformation!  I love how they basically just sprayed down the whole room, such a quick way to do it.  The wall color is SO pretty, and I also loved that she repainted and reused so much furniture she already had.

I am not a huge fan of the red&green chair as it is a bit too Christmassy for me.  It's not bad, I probably would have done blue and green instead, but I hate the color red so no surprise there.

Curtains and a rug will be the finishing touch!  She does have great taste in general (other than burlap wall!)

  • I love it, I just wish the chair was dark pink instead of red.
  • The one thing about it that I sort of wonder about is that she said that they split the difference between usually doing ceilings in flat and trim in semi-gloss, and just sprayed the whole thing eggshell.  I wonder how that will hold up (semi-gloss is tougher and more wipe-able) and if you can notice that "shortcut" IRL.  I'm not sure I'd like eggshell trim.

  • I like that she used a lot of things she already had and repurposed them to fit a new space.  It's cheery and functional!

  • If you were reading these office posts, do you think the reason why she had a deadline of April 30th (or May 1--at least it seemed that way) is because of the Lowe's sponsorship?  She rushed all those posts there at the end, and I am wondering if because, by contract, she had to have the completed project up at a certain deadline.
  • I really like it. I think the chair could be pink or a teal and be better and less christmasy, but I don't think it bothers me much. Since she'll be sitting on the green part.

  • I'm finding it a bit too white ATM. I think that pure white rarely looks good on trim that goes up the walls, it needs to be at least a tint, if not quite a strong tint. I wouldn't have painted the desk bright white either. But I'll bet as she adds more colour around the room, and curtains, it will look better.

Probably, but hey, she's three months pregnant, has a toddler, and a husband who's never home, it's no wonder she's  behind.

  • I love it. And I really want one of those ceramic heads for somewhere in my house.
  • I love it!  The only thing I would change would be a lighter Capiz light (pink, white, tan) because I think the black looks harsh against the nicer colors, but I know she already had it and applaud her use of things she already owned!
  • I want this office so bad it hurtssssss. She nailed Lilly Pulitzer IMO.
  • I looooove it. Great colors, very bright and cheerful. I would spend a lot of time in there.

Agree on not being able to read her juvenile writing, though. I really can't handle any more bacon or underpants references, so I generally just look at the photos. She does have excellent design sense.

  • I really like it. I think the red chair is my favorite.
  • wait, people READ her blog? its all about the photos for me.

I love the new office. love.

  • I think it looks really good in general, but I don't understand the sewing nook. It looks like there's a door back there that is blocked by the bookcase and the chair for the sewing table. Did she talk about that door and I just missed it?

I think she said that door accesses their garage and they don't really use it.

  • I love all of it except for the stinking deer head on the wall.  I just don't get that trend.  The color, however, is spectacular.
  • I love it!! She did an awesome job!
