It is a little...odd.
I heard a long time ago that was the plan... yuck! I love Max for boys, HATE it for girls.
It's a family name (fwiw, I am not defending the choice)

If it's a family name I wonder why they didn't go with a variation of Max. Like, Maxine.
Perhaps the child is transgendered? Just a thought. Either way, the name does not surprise nor shock me as much as some of the others from other "famous" folk.
And if all else fails at the very least when she is of age she can change her name to something more fitting if she so desires.
To each their own. I suppose the need to popularize and go the distance with names is a must when all eyes are on you.
