We have a special way we are supposed to answer the phone. Always. Even if we know who it is.

"Information Systems, this is Jeana ****, application analyst with Blank Blank Hospital. How may I help you?"

Every. Time.

I get interrupted so much.

Wow. I don't think I say that many words on my average phone call, much less the greeting. Yikes!

I just say "this is myname." Or "hello personcallingme."

We have a script. Short department name followed by Long Company Name. This is tevagirl.

If it's an internal transfer from anyone except the front desk I just say, this is tevagirl. If it's from the front desk I give them my whole spiel.

I'm a admin for a group of camps, one of our directors always responds to my long spiel with this is Directors name of camp of department name of Long company name. Makes me laugh every time.
