Hi, I just posted this in the "Cleaning and Organizing" board but realized it might be more appropriate in this board:
I'm slowly renovating my place and I didn't follow the rule of doing one room at a time for a few reasons. Having to move things around to do parts of my reno has caused a big huge mess in my place and it has gotten so out of hand that I dont even know where to start. I like to write down a list of tasks and complete them, but it seems more difficult done than said when there are also daily chores like dishwashing, cooking, laundry, etc. There are so many hours in a day and I cant seem to get my place together. I dont expect it to look perfect but with all of the spring cleaning (i.e. - going through boxes of things, pulling them out and deciding what goes where) it has just added to complete chaos. I think I approached it wrong and Im trying to fix it. Please Help!
Re: Keeping a clean house during renovation..
Well, it's not too late to go back to the "one room at a time mentality" when it comes to the cleaning. That makes cleaning MUCH easier (and more rewarding) for me. When it all gets really overwhelming, like a week when I have no time and my entire house is a mess, I just focus on cleaning ONE room and keeping it clean over the next few days. Then I add another room, and another room, and another room, (over the course of several days or even weeks) until it's all clean. That's the goal, anyway. I'm currently at only 1 room of my house clean myself
