I really need to get a piano again.
I'm waiting until we move, though...
I used to play November Rain from this sheet music I had, and the guitar solo part was so much fun - I would really get it, swaying back and forth. lol. I'd probably have to reteach myself everything if I started playing again. I'd be back to chopsticks.
Re: I really need to get a piano again.
Tamb, I just read about your soft wipes search and the Wegmans ones are really soft, I used to buy them specifically to clean C's face after dinner because they were really cloth like. Would you like me to send you some, just to try them out?
When the get a little older, you want more substantial wipes, but for now I can see wanting something gentle right now.
Aw, thanks cleo, but we don't have Wegman's here, so I couldn't buy more if they worked.
Her whole area, not just her butt, is just red. I'm afraid it's hurting her when I'm wiping, because it looks tender, and she cries the whole time. I keep putting diaper cream on it, but it still looks irritated.
OK, I would just use paper towel (try the Viva ones) and wet with warm water. Then let her air dry as much as you can before applying cream and diaper.
I had a digital one for a couple of years, but I sold it because we needed money, and I didn't really enjoy playing it much. Once we buy a place and stop moving around so much, I'm going to try to buy a real one off of Craigslist. I keep hoping my mom will just give me hers, since she never plays it, and I'm going to inherit it one day anyway, but I think she just likes having it.
Paper towels and warm water will help, tamb. And you don't have to wipe with every pee, just when she whizzes all over herself lol
That's what my mom keeps telling me to do - just use water, but I feel like it's not clean without a wipe! But I guess that's kind of dumb since adults don't use wipes (well, I do use those butt wipes, but we are talking about normal adults, lol).
True, I almost never wiped C or K after pees.
If she has a rash I suggest letting her go diaperless for at least 1-2 hrs for a couple days. Just lay a towel underneath her-at her age she shouldnt make a big mess. Also instead of wiping her after a poop can you take her straight to the tub? First dab off any excess with a wipe but don't wipe till her butt is in the tub. Or if you can just wipe her butt in the sink. I was doing this twice a day with Layla when it was pretty bad-not after every poop though. Im assuming these techniques should work for a 2 week old but Layla didn't get her first rash till after 7 months so never tried it younger.
lol I know, but water is just fine and try to not use them unless it is a poop. Seriously, this will help too.
If she does get really irritated, like from diarrhea, you can soak her but in warm water and a tablespoon of baking soda.
I love that this post devolved into butt talk!
Want to hear a new one? The nurse told me to put Maalox on the butt (when there is bad diaper rash) and leave it one for 15 minutes. Being an antacid, it can help neutralize things, especially when a baby has diarrhea.
Every time I play I feel so happy and I wonder why don't I play more often.
I think you should (Get one, and play more often!)
