Open House House Warming Party
Hi! I'm having a house warming party this weekend and I still can't decide on the food. I don't want to do too much, as we only invited 30 people and only a few have responded they would be coming. I still need some ideas though.
So far, I have:
Bitesized tacos (I can't remember exactly what they're called, but their not really tacos, but taco-like. Very tasty and always a hit)
Cucumber sandwiches
Mini quiche
Cookies from a local bakery (No time to cook my own)
Any other suggestions? I've never hosted a real party, so ideas are very welcome!!
Re: Open House House Warming Party
We had our housewarming party back in the fall. Here's my recap.
I also did a recap of our Christmas party (recap is at the bottom of the post). Some of the menu stayed the same, but for the "main course" food I ordered big sandwiches and I also made a pan of mac and cheese.
Just my opinion but thought of mini tacos and quiches together doesnt sound too great. Unless you were maybe using chorizo sausage and green peppers. I do love mini tacos though so maybe lean toward more of a mexican or southwest theme. I think this Taco Pie sounds much better than a quiche and looks fairly easy. You could do chips/salsa/guac and a taco salad.
I like the pp's menu and think many of her items would work ~the buffalo dip, southwest eggrolls, veggie platter.
You have 3 appetizers and one dessert...if you want to keep to appetizers that's fine, but add about 3 more...
Or you can add a main and 2 sides
and at least one other dessert.
And I"m hoping you can find things to bring this menu together a little more
I'm thinking chips/salsa, pasta salad, chicken nugget platter, and brownies
