It IS Biblical that God does not condone homosexuality but just like he doesnt condone cheating, stealing or any other sin.

Homosexuality, cheating, stealing, wearing polyester, eating shrimp, using the pullout method...

    This.

Funny how they pick and choose which prohibitions they follow, ain't it?  They seem to favor those that can be used as a weapon to discriminate against others and to cause division and disharmony.  Yay God!  I'm totes sure that's what Jesus meant by "love thy neighbor."

Andplusalso, how about you follow the rules set by your god and leave everyone else to their own business?  How would you like it if you were persecuted for not living according to the tenets of Islam or some other religion that you do not follow?

And finally, pleasefuckoff.  You are the reason people think Christians are ass-holes.  Way to spread the word!

Im confused as to why this quote was so offensive; the poster confirmed that this dude is a crackpot and only made a factual statement that there are many things considered sin in the Bible. Thats all that was said. Why all the hate? Seems to be more intolerance among this group than even the craziest, off their rocker religious leaders.

    1. We've seen that poster's bullshiit before.

    2. She's just using this post as a reminder about how gays suck.

    3. We don't have to tolerate the calling of our friends, loved ones, or our own selves sinful.

you realize this is not Biblical at all to harm someone and this guy is off his rocker.

It IS Biblical that God does not condone homosexuality but just like he doesnt condone cheating, stealing or any other sin.

Still, harming someone or degrading them is wrong-the Bible is clear on that

Oh thank God you're here to speak for all Christians about the Bible.

Listen, I'm having this problem.  I know I'm supposed to leave the city once a month when I have my period.  But sometimes they're really long, and I haven't accrued enough vacation time to keep bailing PLUS my boss doesn't seem to understand my religious convictions.  I'm being persecuted, right?  So...where do you go monthly when you are shunned because of your uterine happenings?  Can we meet up?

Also, there are many Christians and Biblical scholars that would disagree with her assertion of particular sins. She wasn't stating fact, she was stating her belief. Different story.

"I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleaned the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be?"

"My chief of staff, Leo McGarry, insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is it okay to call the police?"

"Here's one that's really important cause we've got a lot of sports fans in this town: touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7 If they promise to wear gloves can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point?

"Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother, John, for planting different crops side by side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads?"

  • And you know what's the most scary thing about these fuuckwads? They also consider themselves pro life because they just wuv the widdle babies.

They love children when they're zygotes. As soon as they are born, it's on. Beat that kid!

And the fact that he had people cheering him on makes it more sickening.

  • curlydog, Christians will tell you, "oh that's the old Testament laws. Jesus freed us from them. We only go by New Testament laws now."

Never mind the fact that Christians are quick to whip out OT laws when it suits them and the NT is full of its own crazy rules.

I've known so many people like this pastor it's scary. This is why I broke away from the Evangelical/Fundies. There is so much hate and oppression it's a wonder more people don't just snap.

Hmm, lavendar is pretty iffy. You should switch him to something manly like Irish Spring or Old Spice to be safe.

Or Brut--perhaps? I wish I had all the answers. This guy needs to publish a book so I can wrap my head around what to do with my shoveling son's limp wrists, and my DD's impressive ability to belch like a man.

    In a better place, IMO.

Oh, I love The West Wing!

All of this (these laws, I mean)  is irrelevant to today. If you know the beliefs of Christianity, you will find that they believe that after Christ, we are no longer bound by Old Testament law..which all of your references are. Try finding a verse in the new testament, Christ's law, whom they follow, regarding anything but love and get back to me. I'd love to meet up, but unless you live in the vicinity of Vietnam, I wouldn't be able to afford it ATM..

You asked for it - Jesus talking about something besides love.

    Luke 14: 25 -27 (NIV)

Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 26 ?If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters?yes, even their own life?such a person cannot be my disciple. P)'>27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Now, I know you will want to say that what he means is putting him first and loving him WAAAY more than anyone on earth blah blah blah, but to be literal, if you want to follow Jesus, I hope you hate all your family.  Wait, you're in Vietnam with your husband?  You FAIL at being Christian.
