Confessions

I have a lot of work to do today so I just bought about $10 worth of Glee songs and set up an AWESOME play list to get me through the day.

Re: Confessions

  • The president of the company sent an email to me and 8 other people yesterday informing us that she would shortly be coming around with bonus checks for our help with implementing the new software a couple of weeks ago. She asked that we keep it confidential, as always (I guess this has been done before).

I feel a little guilty because I noticed some people were left out who did about the same work as I did. I'm definitely not saying anything, though.

Another confession: I'm debating- and think I've decided- on waiting to tell work that I'm pregnant until after they give me a raise on June 9th. I've been here for almost two years without any kind of raise and I was promoted 2 months ago to a much more involved position (from my entry-level one), so I at least want to be compensated for that before I go on 4 month maternity leave. Also, I probably won't come back to work, which is why I feel a little guilty about accepting a raise right before I leave. Just a little.

Probably a good idea. Seems like something would happen that would ultimately prevent you from getting that raise

I wouldn't put it past them!

  • I'm hooked on Ancient Aliens, and if H says one more comment about my TV habits I might just remind him about his dirty secret shows.

*cough* Revenge and Jersey Shore *cough*

  • Missus, I can't say I would do it differently if I were in your shoes, sounds like the right plan of action to me.  Don't feel guilty about taking the raise then leaving, people do that all the time.

My confession is that reading some of the recent posts on ML makes me really glad that I don't have kids or a shiiity husband/life.      Some days just lurking over there makes me feel very grateful for what I have,  or don't have when it comes to babies/puking/pooping stories.

DH and I have had our fair share of fights but I generally wouldn't think to air my dirty laundry online where people can bash him for being a dbag or something.

  • Yesterday, I found a book at my fave bookstore- 100 Love Sonnets by Pablo Neruda. DH let me read one to him yesterday. I don't think he got it but I thought it was sensual.

Also, I have an interview Thursday and I can not find my CV. Arg!!

It's not even so much the husband bashing type posts, it's more the depressive "gosh, I'm so overwhelmed from lack of sleep and so much to do and I can't get any help" type of posts.   Makes me glad my H is very helpful when it comes to cooking, doing his own laundry, housechores, and truly I am the slacker in my house sometimes, not him.

Agreed. Speaking of, DH and I did a lot of cleaning yesterday and I thoroughly appreciated him helping me with no complaints.

I am guilty of this myself.  Even more so when its people I know irl.  I even feel a bit of satisfaction when someone I know has marital problems, after they have spent a large amount of time hassling me for my decision to remain cf.  I just wanna say "HA, bet you wish you made the same choices as me now!"... but I dont.

  • Confession: I'm really annoyed with someone who has social anxiety problems. I understand anxiety, I do, I've struggled with it many times and still do. However, it's getting ridiculous.

She's 25, has lived with her parents after graduating college, and complains about them (like so many people do, nbd) but doesn't like to leave the house. She text me yesterday about how she is visiting a friend for the day/night yesterday who lives 2 hours away and she was crying because she didn't want to be there.

(It reminds me of when I was 5 and had a sleepover and my friend woke up in the middle of the night crying and went home.)

She sees a counselor, but like, something else needs to be done. It's insane. I don't know how to help her and part of me just doesn't even want to hear it because I get annoyed thinking at how immature she sounds. (And yet, she's still a good friend of mine and DH's... we love her!)

  • I will also confess that right now I am having total body curve envy after seeing the new Sophia Vergara photos from GQ that are online.   Holy moly, she's like a real live Jessica Rabbit but without the red hair.   Her boobs are almost as nice as Shadow's!

Unrelated, also my brother looks like a homeless man.    Mom sent me a text of him last night and I am seriously concerned that he's going to be a lonely man for a long time if he doesn't start caring about his appearance.   He doesn't realize you can't "let yourself go" until you've got someone already hooked in.  Stick out tongue

  • Ha!  I've already got DH hooked and I haven't let myself go.... Yet.  If I don't get my hair done soon, I might be facing divorce papers.

Although, in my defense, my favorite foods are pretty healthy, so my weight is holding steady at "average."

  • I hope that I get to sleep alone again in bed tonight.

I hate this up/down change of weather here in MI. It's 50, it's 80, it's 59, it's 85, it's 77, then it's 64, etc. Man those weather people sure make a lot of money for being wrong a lot of the time!

I am scared of my throat/stomach procedure on Friday.
