I want to do our upstairs bath in a beach theme. Light blues, sand colors and some sage maybe thrown in there. Where us your favorite place to shop for accessories, im not panting bc it's the exact color I want on the walls. I have a Marshall's home goods by me, but haven't seen much beach stuff. I hate Ross, any other suggestions? Thanks so much!
Re: Beach theme...
Our overall decor is "coastal" and I've had good luck picking things up at Michaels, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, and Etsy. I'll caution it's easy to go overboard and make it too themey/cheesy, a few items is all that you need.
With the former mentioned you really don't need much but to reply on your color scheme (solid colors - no towels with little images of shells) and maybe create some art like a shadow box with a simple star-fish type shell. I've also seen the apothecary jars with some sand/shells in it - and done.
Otherwise, I was at TJ Maxx the other day and they had a whole aisle of bags of shells and the such.
It's a timing thing. As we go into summer, there will be more beach style looks in the stores. Our stores are transitioning now from spring to summer.
check out target....i haven't had a chance to check it out, but steph mentioned they had a good selection of beach inspired decor there recently in one of her blog posts.
