Rec's for gray paint colors please

Now that life is relatively sane again I want to use the rest of my maternity leave to do some D&R stuff around the house. For our MBR I think a light gray would look nice - something that doesn't read too blue, or too silvery (to keep it away from being too feminine). Any recommendations? Bonus points for pics or google-able specific paint names. TIA!

Re: Rec's for gray paint colors please

  • We just did a bunch of our house in SW Light French Gray (we had Lowes color match it). It really is a true gray. I'm going to try to paste this, sorry if it doesn't work. There are more pics on my blog here: http://keepsonringing.wordpress.com/2012/04/30/ta-da/

I love this gray, it was exactly what I wanted. Very classy.

  • I'm learning towards SW Revere Pewter.
  • I used Valspars Wet Pavement at our last house and was very happy with it.

    You mean BM?

  • We used Coventry Grey by BM (though mixed in SW) in our kitchen, hallway, mudroom, kid's shared bathroom and a guest bathroom.

It looks a little different in each room. I really love it in the kitchen - it is so clean looking with our white moldings.

I know it is considered a trendy been there, done that color but no one I know has ever used it including our builder. So it works for us

While a color may not sit on the wheel as a blue - purple - etc ... most of that depends on the room you have the color in - the lighting, etc.
  • It's not light gray, but we love the color we painted our living room. It's called Wood Smoke (Behr).
  • We used Valspar's Stony Path for my H's office.  It has a greenish undertone to it.  It's a really nice soothing color.  Sorry, no pics.

  • Oh yes, sorry. BM Revere Pewter, sorry. Lots of colors we are pondering over here.
  • We have Benjamin Moore's Pashmina.  It looks beige-ish on the swatch, but a nice warm gray on the walls.  The room was previously painted Revere Pewter, and for our room it was just too light...it looked more like a dirty white than a "color."

  • I love Martha Stewart Cement Gray - I used it in our dining room. Its more of a mideium gray though.
