How do you find someone to appraise jewelry?
Like great-grandmother stuff. Just a random jeweler? I know it's not worth meeeelions of dollars or anything, but I should probably make sure it's properly insured.

If you liked my idea of holidaying in Spring Green, you could have a personal appointment.
Otherwise you can send it to her - I don't know if pictures will get you the most accurate assessments (hallmarks and such could be missed) but I can ask her.

I strongly suspect someone who knows what they are doing would be fine with just pictures - one of the rings has what my family keeps calling "miner's diamonds", which I presume means "little chips of sparkly stuff that may or may not be diamonds". Depending on the cost to ahve it done, I might be willing to send them.
I paged you later in the day - you should do your getaway in Spring Green, WI and maybe do a day in Madison.

I found a guy locally online when I got my engagement ring appraised.
Also, I think a lot of the mall chains have an appraiser come in once a month or once every other month, something like that. It might be worth calling one of the chains to see if they appraise, or if they have an appraiser come in.
