No, seriously the colonoscopy is easy. The only thing that sucks is the prep the day before. When I woke up from the procedure I didn't feel ANYTHING, and I thought I would.

The day before I just stayed in my bedroom, close to the bathroom, and just watched TV/read. Now the TMI part - I did have some of those wet wipes because after going to the bathroom so much....you know?

I'm trying to remember how soon I have to start the prep work for the procedure. Hopefully it's not while I am at work. Procedure for that is 8:30 am and I gotta be there at 7:30 so I am hoping it's like 12 hours before the procedure that I have to start doing everything.

You'll be eating a bland diet, and you'll start before 12 hours before your procedure. Different doctors do the prep work different ways, but you'll start your prep work way before 8:30pm the night before.

This was my first major medical procedure, and the only time I was put under besides my wisdom teeth extraction, so yeah... I was a little nervous. 

 

But I had no reason to be nervous, everything worked out just fine the day of the procedure and when I woke up I didn't even know it was already over.

um, I'd see if I could take at least a 1/2 day the day prior.

charity - tell your assholle boss you need the time off.  Your health is the most important thing right now.  I know they don't pay you for time off anyway, so tell him to suck it.  I hope everything goes well and that you get good news after all this.

The prescription they gave me is NuLytely. I am hoping that it's not that much money.

It's available in generic - thank god. Wohoo.  Ugh I am still nervous to have a camera shoved down my throat into my stomach on Friday. But I bet I am going to be more of a basketcase for the colonscopy. Thanks gals for the info. I think I will probably be asking more questions. Per directions, I start taking the stuff at 5pm the day before so I will be good. Not eating food is going to suck.

Seriously. The colonoscopy is NOTHING. You get an IV, you go to sleep, you wake up it's done. And then you can't work that day because you "can't make any legal decisions"

Seriously. The colonoscopy is NOTHING. You get an IV, you go to sleep, you wake up it's done. And then you can't work that day because you "can't make any legal decisions"
