Which one would you choose and why? I have the Insanity workout but haven't tried it yet. I'm hearing a lot of things about P90X.

Re: Insanity vs P90X
I am doing Insanity right now. I love it! It kicks my a$$
I am on day 8 now. Since you have Insanity already, get started on it! You wont be too far behind me.
After Insanity, I will be doing either Chalean Extreme or P90X.
i've done two insanity workouts and thought i was going to die both times.
that said, it's incredible. i can see it being totally effective if done regularly. i still need to try p90x. damn near anything's going to be doable after insanity, for real.
I have both and have done both. It depends on your goals. Insanity is more cardio based and I think you will gain more to overall fitness. Although p90x has some cardio, I think it's pretty weak. What I liked and gained from p90x is the muscle definition and strength. Definitely more toning in p90x.
Since you already have Insanity, you should start from there.
This!
Also, I did Insanity and then started Chalene. To be honest, I don't like Chalene very much. It's not as "exciting" as Insanity. Love, love Insanity and Shaun T!
H did P90X before we met, so I've done some of the discs here and there. They definitely have their benefits, but it focuses a lot more on building muscle mass and definition.
I bought Insanity several weeks ago and did about 3 weeks before I stopped to train for a charity run and I could already tell a difference. Even though Insanity had zero running, I was able to run for much longer periods because I was so used to intense cardio.
I really need to start it over at this point because the break I took for training turned into a lot longer than I planned, but I love those workouts. They completely kick your ass, but I always feel so good when I'm done. Once I go through a full cycle of Insanity though, I might try to follow P90X to finish toning some areas and get a little more definition, but I think Insanity is a good place to start.
I finished P90X, took a week off and am now almost 2 wks into Insanity. I didn't do much formal workouts before P90X so lost around 12# in the first 30 days. I dropped clothing sizes fast and really could tell I was able to do more each week. I don't know how I would have felt had I just jumped into Insanity first because it really is intense. I'm really enjoying it if I'm not passed out on the floor
I do like that it's quicker - longest so far is 45 mins and its about 1/3 each of "warm up", workout and cool down. Really the warm up is its own butt kicker.
That being said, try what you have first. If it's too much, start back w P90X which is more about do what you can and gradually build up to it.
Have fun! Do what you can and forget the rest as Tony Horton would say.
I think they are both good, but different.
As mentioned, Insanity is more cardio and P90X is more strength.
I got really strong and felt more overall fit from P90X. I didn't finish Insanity (stopped about 3 weeks in). While doing it I noticed improvements in my cardio fitness, but I felt like I was losing some of the strength gains from P90X. A lot of people do hybrid workouts and I think that's the ideal way to go. (Strength from P90X, Cardio from Insanity.)
If you have Insanity, you might as well use it. You can always try P90X later or do a hybrid. The good thing about Insanity is that you don't need any equipment and it doesn't suck up nearly as much time as P90X. It also doesn't hurt that Sean T is nice to look at
