This is why I'm covered in scars.

I seriously cannot stop messing with this scab.

poke. poke. poke.

Oh. There is a little bit that is no longer connected to the wound. Maybe I'll just pull that itty bitty piece off! :much larger portion comes off and bleeding resumes:

Dammmmit!

If I only had the self control to leave this alone....

Re: This is why I'm covered in scars.

  • I don't know what happened to you, but I have this exact problem. One tiny dried up piece of scab will start to snag on everything and just be annoying as all fuckinghell, and I'll figure I can JUST peel off that tiny bit so it stops catching on everything. Yeah, nope, it always gets some of the completely still attached/not even damaged skin and makes the whole area needing to be healed bigger/bloodier/longer in the scabby phase. And somehow I NEVER LEARN.

  • Yeah.  I wonder if I'll ever learn or if I'll be in the nursing home picking at scabs?

    This.

Seriously. Every scratch, cut or burn I get scars because I can't leave it alone during the healing process.

  • This is totally me.  DS had a scab on his face last week and it was KILLING me not to pick at it once it was obvious it was on it's way out anyway.  I'm amazed at my resolve...
