Weird face question.

So... my left eye, underneath it, is weirdly swollen.  It's just the left eye.  I noticed it this morning and was like, "Man, did I not sleep well?"  But it's just ONE EYE, which is freaking me out slightly.  Has this every happened to you?

You can see the weird line under my left eye.

I tried teabags to no avail.  Do I have a brain tumor or something???

Re: Weird face question.

  • I've had puffiness like that before - I tend to assume it's either  a fluid thing (like you've got some sinus stuff going on?) or maybe a bit of an allergic reaction or something. It is itchy, or tender to the touch?

  • Did you sleep mostly on your left side? I've had more fluid accumulate on one side when I sleep like that.

  • Well first, I can't tell you're swollen lol! So at least you dont look like a freak :)

Second, my guess is sinus issues. Hope it clears up soon!

  • hmmmm. i see nothing. you will have to enlarge and point an arrow to your line.

your make up looks pretty. is this a trick to show off pretty make up?

  • I thought maybe allergies, but only one eye seems weird?  I've had puffy eyes before, but not just one.

It took me a minute to figure out, but I slept on my right side last night, so I would assume my right eye would be puffy if it was fluid accumulation from sleeping on my side.  Hm.

My makeup looks good b/c I just did it. lol.  Give me half an hour and it'll all be all over the place.  But thanks!

You can sort of see the line under my left eye (your right), from the inside corner coming down in an arc.  The picture may not show it well, but it's there and it looks weird.

  • Is the swelling painful to the touch?
  • No, not painful or itchy or tender.  Just puffy.

  • If it's not painful I would doubt it's a sinus problem (I usually get pain if it's my sinuses). It's probably just fluid retention. Are you close to your period or did you eat a lot of salt yesterday?

    I vote not a tumah.

  • I'm always puffier and darker under my right eye.  I have no idea what it's about.  I just slap on extra concealer and part my hair so that my sideswept band falls over that side.  Problem solved.

It better not be a tumor.

So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

Thank God someone else has this too.  You'll notice I tilted my head to the side to try to minimize the weird way it makes my right eye more noticeable.  lol.  I'm going to have to tilt my head all day and people will think I have a stiff neck or something.

Is there any cream or anything I can use?  I tried tea bags and man, that sh!t has to be an urban legend, because it did exactly nothing.  Except make my face smell like bergamot.

I haven't found anything that works, really.  I just deal with it.  Lots of head tilting, and strategically placed hair.  Also, if you frequently arch the brow of your good eye, that pulls focus -- in addition to making you appear sinister and sexy.

I am sorry that I don't have anything more constructive to add.

  • I can *barely* see the line, but I know what you mean. I've had random eye puffiness happen like that and it's just that: random. Maybe you slept on your hand up near your face?

BTW - You look like jailbait.

  • No tumor, lol! I often have one sided swollen eye issues, for me, it's allergies. Maybe take a Benadryl if it's not better later? or tonight before bed?

  • I have a recurring sinus issue on my right side.  Even when it's not bothering me, if there's a lot of crap in the air, I will wake up with some swelling around my right eye.  It lessens as the day goes on.
