My neighbors are such TRASH

yes, I complain about them a lot, but whatever.

I was behind the prostitute/mom on the way home from the store. I saw that she had one of her kids in the backseat, unbuckled. As we're driving down the road, she's road raging the car ahead of her (She's obviously a crack head b/c there was a long line of traffic with nowhere for anyone to go), swerving into the oncoming traffic lane at times. I kinda get ragey at HER driving, but I try to calm myself down b/c WTF can I do. Nothing.

We get to a red light and we're sitting next to each other. She has the THREE year old in the car (half the size of my almost 2 year old btw) with NO car seat and NO seatbelt. I know this is his main mode of transportation b/c I see him get in the car often. I'm still infuriated. How can people not care about their kids enough TO PROPERLY SECURE THEM IN THE CAR?

Fuckingcrackheads. Thank god we're moving (hopefully by July)

  • I can't stand seeing kids that aren't buckled up. I would have dialed 911 and given them the license number/direction you were heading that way maybe an officer in the area could pull her over.

Cops here don't care. They took a day to respond to shots being fired next door.

  • I would have called the cops and reported her.

H and I are actually thinking of getting evidence against her and forwarding it to DCF. I'm not sure if that qualifies us as crazy, but this kid is in danger IMO.

Sadly, this isn't the first time things of this nature (not this exact thing, but kid related issues) and cops have never responded. Even when the kid next door was vandalizing our house.

  • This whole story just makes me sad, but yay for moving by July! Glad the date is moving up!

  • Since 911 won't do anything I would give DCF a call to see what they can do, if anything and what sort of documentation they need from you.   I'd have to imagine they will come out just on the tip alone but who knows but at the end of the day I can't imagine they doing nothing.

WTF is with your cops?  That is awful.

  • Definitely call the child protection services and make a complaint - they will send out someone to check on them.

If the local/city police will not do anything, what about the county sheriff's office?  I would call them if I saw kids bouncing around in car without seat belts/car seats - that is soo damn dangerous.

Its not their jurisdiction so they won't come out.

And with CPS it's my word against theirs so I'm not sure if theyd do anything unless there was evidence.
