Ever get in the car and just drive?
I was feeling restless last night so I got in the car and just drove. I ended up going almost all the way around Lake Minnetonka which is HUGE. I cranked some tunes and just drove. Eventually I turned on my GPS to get me back home because I had no clue where I was!
I just mapped where I went. 29 miles. It took about an hour. Kris Humphries lives near the "B" marker. Too bad we won't be seeing Kim around these parts anymore!
Do you ever get in the car and just drive?

Re: Ever get in the car and just drive?
Yes.
I love to put some gravel in my travel. Seriously. Sometimes I take gravels just to see where they can take me.
I used to think about doing this a lot when I was single. Especially when I was feeling not so in control of my surroundings (stressed, whatever). I actually did it once. late at night. Got in my jeep, rolled down all the windows and drove really fast down the interstate screaming at the top of my lungs.
It felt great.
Then I turned around and went home.
LOL! No ***! Now I avoid any additional driving at all costs because of the price of gas. I'm 33 going on 80.
Haha, yeah. I filled up my tank before I "took off" and it wasn't pretty. I definitely wouldn't do this frequently.
I used to do this once in a while, but my bff and I used to do this A LOT. Get in the car, start driving, listen to music, smoke and smoke and smoke (cigarettes, usually). It was just awesome.
there was a gas station near where i lived in college where gas was $.89/gallon. i used to then.
not anymore.
Yes, it is one of my favorite things to do.
I am a menace to the environment.
Not as much anymore, but last year, before Natalie started school, and they were both home all day, every day, yes. All the time.
I couple times, H actually called me in the middle of it.
H: hey, what's up?
Me: The girls are making me crazy today, and not sleeping, so we're driving around.
H: Oh. So, where are you?
Me: I don't know. I got on I-40, and just started driving west. When I'm ready to turn around, I will.
H (sensing danger): um. Ok. Do you think that will be today? Before dinner?
Me: probably. depends how far I go.
Yes, and I miss it a lot.
Once we drove out of school and kept going until we got to Salina, Kansas. Then we had to turn around and come home (we had dreams of getting to Texas for what reason, I don?t know). The entire trip was 8 hours. And by trip, I mean trip.

All the time. It's such a destresser for me, and I cherish the alone time. Even running simple errands by the townhome, I tend to take the long way there and back.
I felt guilty about it the other day because H was home during the day on Saturday (which never happens), and I was taking my sweet time to get back to our place. I wasn't even mad or irritated at him or had any reason to avoid him. Weird?
There are a lot of golf courses and lakes near you :-)
Me too. Now, no, mainly because ( I am sure I will get flamed for this) I now live in the South, and I am more afraid being out and about at night here than I ever felt when I lived in WA and ID.
awww, I used to sail there.
And yes, I used to do this when DD was younger. Just drove around the city sometimes.
care to elaborate?
This is one of my absolute favorite things to do, but as PPs said, I've had to curtail it a bit since gas prices have spiked. It's great for stress relief though, especially in the summer with the windows down.
Sometimes I play a game with myself where I drive out to the middle of nowhere, and if I can get home again without turning on my GPS, I win.
