Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Also, let's discuss photography
Re: Also, let's discuss photography
They count "spamming" as talking about your business. So yes, it applies to all businesses. So talking about starting up a cloth diaper store, what to name your shoe store, I'm going to become a tailor what should I charge per item, etc. all counts as business talk and as such should be edited.
Part of it goes back to their vendors and not wanting to compete with their vendors. So going back to the knot days, talking about your bakery, or dj business, or dress store, etc.
Hmm interesting. Thanks.
That's pretty much all we're left with on the boards. At least I'm consistent in my fuuckery.
The nest is particularly bananas about etsy shops if I remember correctly. There was a lot of drama surrounding etsy shops, links in sigs, links to blogs about etsy shops, etc. a few years ago.
It's cuckoo to me, but people I know were banned over it.
Not exactly the same. I explained further in the other post. Talking about/complaining about your job isn't in any way furthering the business. If it was, I'd probably edit it, but in general it's "I hate my job, my boss just breathed on me with his stank breath."
Talking about your etsy shop invariably talks about specific products you have, can you do customs, what do you charge, etc. See what happened when HAB mentioned her etsy, she was immediately asked what products she was going to provide.
I know several people who were banned because of it.

I understand that, pixy and I never would have engaged a conversation beyond the generics of what I said. If you had concerns that I would, you should have issued a warning instead of deleting what I wrote as what I did write didn't cross or even come close to any lines.
That being said, I'm not biitchy about it. Nor am I feeling shanky or anything. I just find the nest to be inconsistant on the matter and I think you're handling it with a touch more zeal than required.
But moving on, let's discuss all the other ways I'm anasshole today.

What if your signature links to a blog that plugs your bidness?
That always gets reported (or should), and you'll get a pm/email from a nest god. You can get banned for that.
Dude, what?? I thought it was decided that you could have a link to a blog that has a link to your etsy shop provided that blog was not a nest provided blog?
Click me, click me!
That's fine. What lyss is talking about is a blog that is specifically for your business. A personal blog that has a link to your business (i.e. is not solely about your business), is fine.
Wow. I am pretty sure MM has posts every other day about opening businesses and what people would pay for certain items. Sounds like we are a bunch of rebels over there. Although it would seem like such topics are appropriate on a board about money since they are about money.
