A friend posted this to facebook. Apparently someone at a Florida Airport found a wedding album and is trying to track down the couple so it can be returned to them. One of the local news networks there is covering the story.
(yeah, totally a long shot, but what the heck, the more people that see the pics, the more possible it is that the couple might be found...)
Re: Recognize the Marine?
Which one?
Ha, I saw that and thought that Stan would have something to say about that. Yes, that is an unfortunate photo.
I did not see that. I don't recognize the family either. I kind of assume they have copies on a disc or something, you know? It was 2008 after all.
Not on their dress blues. They have fancy medals on one side and ribbons on the other.
We don't wear name tags on our two fancy uniforms either (semi-formal and mess dress).
Hmm. We have name tapes on everything but PTs.
True enough - they probably are/were digital photos. Even still, trying to get it back to the owners is a nice thought...
Marines don't need individual names.
And Audette, it is really nice to try and get them back to them, and nice of you to post.
Instead of hearing, "Who the hell showed up to ball with the hooker in the red dress?" We like to be able to say, "Jones! The CO wants to know why the hell you didn't tell the hooker you brought to ball to put some damn clothes on? Stop shopping for dates at the Gold Club!"
In all seriousness, how come people don't already know his name? I genuinely think the CO of H's unit at least knows him by sight and what his function in the unit is, so he'd know where to find him if I looked like a hooker at the next ball.
The Company CO may but the BTN wouldn't. With 2000 dudes, you wouldn't know everyone.
Well, the Group CO wouldn't know H, but his Unit CO (400ish people) would. Marines have their names on MARPAT and flight suits and the mechanic outfit. Not on service uniforms or dress uniforms.
