I attended a Disney managment seminar where they talked about how the company is structured, their managment philosophy, etc. I'm not a Disney fan personally but obviously they are a successful business so it was a really interesting seminar.
One thing that stuck with me is that when they fire someone, instead of saying, "We're letting you go," or the usual, they say, "We're inviting you to seek your happiness elsewhere."
I thought that was hilarious in a Pollyanna kind of way and I hope to use it myself someday.
Re: s/o Disney employees
Lol, well that's one way to sugarcoat the situation!
I honestly feel like working at Disney gave me the best training to deal with customers and I've applied their tools to many situations in the workplace.
*I also point with two fingers now*
My new co-worker worked as a dancer at Disney.
We call her Tinkerbell, because she's got the perky Disney'tude down pat.
My manager says she's going to "free up our futures" if we don't start behaving like Tink.
lol
It's better than what we were told when half the company got laid off.
The owner (who was selling the business raking millions) told us that "this is God's way of tell you that you need to make a change."
You're right.
LOL! I like that one, too!
I have a friend who was a dancer at Disney and she is totally the type you'd expect.
Nice way to say it I guess lol
