Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

That is, of course, unless there already is one and I'm just not cool enough to be part of it!

You know... I was on another board years ago and they had a private FB page. I was so annoyed as apparently I wasn't cool enough and the conversations on the board were no longer making sense.
But now... due to the nature of our circumstances, I think it is a great idea. I am afraid of showing my pix on here but could do so on private FB page.

I'm actually hesitant about this. Several years ago on ML (as well as more recently), people's real names were posted, etc., and it all stemmed back to FB. If one person is friends with someone vindictive or spiteful, and that person has an open friends list, it's pretty easy to cull information.
I hate to be a Debbie Downer, or an alarmist, but them's the facts....
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
I was around for that fiasco, and no thanks.
A private forum, sure, but nothing that lets anyone know who I am or where I'm from or where I work.

I hadn't thought about that, but it's a good point. Maybe a private forum is a better idea. People could share more if they were comfortable with it, but maybe not everything.
I agree...unfortunately. I love you all, SO board (well, the saner ones of you at least, which is most of ya!) but I just get really hesitant when it comes to that stuff. I'm pretty protective of my FB world.

I think this is a great idea.
I'd be fine with a private FB group because I would limit what people could see on my profile / info. Sure, you could see my pics and full name but nothing else.

I am kind of with GOZF. There are some nesties that I have met IRL and a few that I email regularly but I still get nervous about putting all my info out there. A private page would be good so we could post stuff for the regulars on the board without lurkers being able to see everything. Using AEs will still allow for some privacy.
I will organize it if no one else wants to.
