Above the cabinets

We are in the process of buying a house, and the kitchen cabinets don't go all the way to the ceiling.

 

What do you have above yours?

The current owners said they had fake flowers and vines and stuff. I don't think I'll like that.

I don't usually like things above the cabinets. However, our new apartment lacks places for a lot of our pictures so I put those in the kitchen. I actually kind of like the way it looks.

Ours do not go to the ceiling at the new house (or our current place). I've never been a "decorate the top of your cabinets" kind of person, but they look pretty plain right now so I want to add some crown molding.

I have 3 pretty bowls (that randomly get used if I'm baking a lot) and the bouquet and vase from our wedding. Otherwise, occasionally a cat (I can't keep her down, I have tried everything -- don't worry, I wipe every surface down before I cook lol).

Ceramic chickens.  If I weren't on an iPad, I'd have the blushing emoticon here. And I take them down  and clean them often.
