Tick control?

What do you use to control ticks? We have used Frontline and K9 Advantix in the past for fleas and ticks, but switched to Comfortis (the pill) last year when he got infested with fleas while on the Frontline. Can I still use one of these for tick control? That won't be too much?

TIA

Re: Tick control?

  • I don't know that I would give comfortis and a topical, that seems like a lot of chemical exposure.  We use frontline + vetri.

If you are giving an oral treatment for fleas, you can safely use a topical treatment to help prevent against ticks. People that are currently using the Trifexis medication can also apply Frontline to their pets if they have a large tick problem. I, personally, do not see the point in using two products when the Frontline plus can do the same as the comfortis.
