Down with 50 Shades! Give me a book rec!
You all ruined 50 Shades of Gray for me! (or saved me, not sure which)
Anywho, now I need a new book to read seeing as I refuse to waste any more time reading 2 1/2 more books that don't have a plot.
Watcha got, SO? What should I download next on the Kindle?

Re: Down with 50 Shades! Give me a book rec!
I just read Jennifer Weiner's new one "Then Came You" and really enjoyed it. I read it in two days on my FL vacation 2 weeks ago.
Yes! 11/22/63 (I had to Google it) was awesome. I loved "Under the Dome" as well.
"The Fault in Our Stars" is amazing, but don't read it in public if you are a crier.
I'm reading Bossypants by Tina Fey and The Great Gatsby (I'm not far enough in to recommend either one yet). It's been a while since I've read a book that I was really excited about. If you've never read David Sedaris's books, you should because they're hilarious.
I have The Marriage Plot, Austenland, and The Night Circus on my to-read list. I'll probably re-read The Count of Monte Cristo at some point too.
I am pretty open in terms of genre. I read The Hunger Games trilogy in a week and loved it. I also read the Jennifer Weiner book and loved that as well. I will check out the other ones.
Thanks! And keep 'em coming if there are more recs!

None of these recs are recent, but they're all awesome.
Anything by John Irving is wonderful.
Haruki Murikami -- especially The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle or Kafka on the Shore. I've got his new one, but I'm not in it enough to say much about it.
John Updike is one of my very favorites -- start with the Rabbit books. Rabbit, Run is the first. Witches of Eastwick is super good, too.
Geek Love. I cannot endorse Geek Love enough.
Carrie Fisher (yes, Princess Leia) is a fantastic novelist. Surrender the Pink is my favorite, closely followed by Postcards from the Edge.
Brief Interviews with Hideous Men
A Confederacy of Dunces
American Gods
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
This. I am about to start book #5 of Game of Thrones. But most people stop reading during book 4 bc it changes a lot
I forgot about him. I read A Widow for One Year. It was great. I should read some other books of his.
