Bridal shower gift ideas for a non-registered couple?

I'm going to a bridal shower on Saturday and the couple have not registered anywhere. What should I give as a gift? We are planning to do a card with cash for the wedding gift, but I want to give her something nice for the shower.

Re: Bridal shower gift ideas for a non-registered couple?

  • I  disliked getting gifts not on the registry...but then again we had a registry.

Hmmm...difficult (and a bit annoying) situation you're in. My initial reaction was a gift card but it sounds like you really want to take a tangible gift. Perhaps a ring holder? My cousin gave me one at my bridal shower even though we didn't register for it and I have been so happy ever since and use it constantly!

Maybe a nice crystal or glass vase?  What about a gift certificate for a couples massage? I could never turn down something like that- bridal shower or no bridal shower!

  • I'd do a gift certificate for a massage or pedicure.

  • THIS!:

    http://www.amazon.com/SteamFast-SF-407-1500-Watt-Fabric-Steamer/dp/B000BQRD0I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336101362&sr=8-1

She'll be all like, "HUH?" but over time she'll realize she would readily trade one of her major organs / kids if she had to in order to keep this steamer.

  • a picnic basket and champagne.

A basket with a couple of bottles of nice wine, a good corkscrew, and wine glasses.
  • Do you know if the couple already has "everything" (hence why they're not registered)? Is there anything you use that you think they'd enjoy/could benefit from? We use our hot air popper all the time but I don't know how much someone else would use it.

More tangible gift ideas: Candles (or oils/bath salts), board games, chocolate fountain, picture frames (digital?), quality pillows (like, memory foam), picnic basket (with blanket and a bottle of wine), beach towels.

As far as GCs go: I love anything spa related because I rarely would pay for it myself (mani, pedi, facial, massage). And restaurant GCs give DH and I a reason to eat-out.

I agree! I didn't register for a crystal vase and when I received one, I LOVED it! I keep mine on the kitchen table, and I love switching out flowers for different holidays.

Museum or zoo memberships are always a neat gift. Christmas ornaments are fun, too; I've done that several times.
