I won a weekend trip to Vegas from the radio too.
We won it
on our wedding day so we're going for our 1-year anniversary in November.

Don't hate! I can't afford trips otherwise! lol
Re: OPS don't hate me!
haha, I wouldn't hate anyone for winnning a trip, that is fantastic!
Jealousy =/= Hate
It does make me wonder where all these free magical Vegas trip contests are so I can put my name in the hat, apparently I am missing out on something. If you are gonna go to Vegas, going for free sure would be the preferred way to go!
3 days before my wedding I was driving to school and changing radio stations. I just tuned in to a station that told listeners to text the word "Ringer" for a chance to win a diamond necklace.
I did it. Won the necklace. And was entered to win a trip to Vegas. They were selecting the winner on my wedding day. I missed the call from them (because I was busy getting married) and honestly thought I missed my opportunity (because the DJ was like "Hey Milsey it's X, call me back by 8!") and I tried and tried calling at 1AM but didn't hear from them. We went on our HM and when we came back, I had 2 voicemails from the radio station asking for my info. so they could send the stuff.
It was all sorts of wonderful. And I really don't know if we would ever go on our own (maybe "pass through" on a road trip...) but I just want to see the strip!
**Also** our church built a church on the strip. It's called Verve and it's a church for people who don't like going to "church". It's not your typical scene and I really really really want to see it!
That's super cool, even with the missed calls and all that! I have won concert tickets, a book, and other random stuff from the radio call in contests but never a diamond necklace or a trip!!
And that is pretty neat about the church, I am glad you will get the chance to visit there and maybe even attend a service if you don't have a hangover like I would on a Sunday in Vegas.
The Flamingo. We haven't booked it yet, because we have to book our own flight (they gave us an $800 southwest gc) and they're only booking until Nov. 2 and we want to go the 9th - 11th.
I'll have to re-look at the actual paperwork when we book so I can re-read the fine print on how it all works, but we got the SW gc, 2 nights at the Flamingo, $75 gc to Margaritavilla, and $100 visa gc.
I'm very grateful for it, and now almost always enter trip giveaway contests lol
I got married at the Flamingo! When you book your room, see if you can get one of the renovated rooms. They are much nicer than the old ones. And definitely go the Burger Joint in the Flamingo. My hubby and I went there three times! I liked it much better than the burger place in the Mirage that everyone raves about.
-- Thoughts become things, choose the good ones! --
Thanks so much for the tips! I'll definitely keep that in mind when booking... and I'll probably post in late October/early November for suggestions on what to do/where to go/where to eat. We're definitely going to book a cirque du soleil but other than that, I just want to walk around and say I've been to Vegas! haha
That's awesome! How cool that you won 2 contests right in a row!
