Oww. I need suggestions that are not the chiropractor.

I woke up really stiff, it hurts to turn my head right and to move my shoulder. Advil did nothing and it is gettin worse as the day goes on.

I dont like the Chiro, won't go.... So what options do I have. I plan to medicate myself more heavily once I get home.

  • Get a hand towel wet and toss it in the microwave.  Toss it on your shoulder/neck and cover it with a bigger, dry towel.  Include your back/shoulder blade area if you can.  Also, stretch your neck gently all day and get a massage.

  • Stand under a super hot shower head and SLOWLY try to move the area, use your hands to work out any kinks. If you have a massaging shower head put it on the heavy massage/water missile setting.

Use a tennis ball (or something similar) and put it between the spot that hurts and the wall and slowly try to roll it out.

If things don't get better over the weekend see the doctor.

  • If this is a recurring issue, I recommend giving yoga a try.  Stretching all your muscles out should help.
