Has there been a "what are you reading?" thread lately?
Re: Has there been a "what are you reading?" thread lately?
Started or planning to get to:
Want to read:
The Well-Behaved Child has been off-putting so far. Nuture Shock has been interesting.
Im slogging through A Feast for Crows right now. After finishing up the series I'm totally hitting up the new Sookie Stackhouse and there had BETTER be some sex in it. Omg.
The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill (aka Someone Knows My Name in the US, I believe).
Before this I read The Hunger Games (books 1 and 2)
, and 50 Shades
. I needed something less brain-mushy. I am making myself read a few others I own but haven't read yet before I can buy the 3rd HGs book.
Dup.
Jenny Lawson's Let's Pretend This Never Happened is a MUST read if you want to laugh until you hurt or blow drinks out your nose or giggle snort in public enough that people start to stare. Hilarious! And it went straight to the top of the NYT and several other book lists ... with reason.

It is very interesting! I read it a few years ago and then reread it on my Kindle late last year. Her life was pretty fascinating.
I just finished Escape from Camp 14. Incredible account of a life that I can't even begin to imagine.

And I'm almost done with The Bloggess' book Let's Pretend This Never Happened. I tried reading it in public but I had to stop because I was the weird person on the train laughing hysterically. Seriously tho, I've laughed so hard that I've cried and that never happens to me.
I actually liked the series. I felt like it didn't REALLY have to be 12 books (or 13 if you count the Kingdom Come book). But I always like a series that has no problem making you fall in love with characters then putting them thru hell (ha! Literally, in this case).
I heard the first 3 Left Behind books were optioned again but with a Hollywood budget. Might be interesting to see. So long as they keep Kirk Cameron out of it.
I'm reading this too.
