I hate when you buy strawberries, and there are moldy ones buried

in the middle of the package (which happens, like, 3/4 of the time). I'm sure it's just natural for mold to grow in the middle like that, but I always feel like I've been duped! Like whoever packaged them hid those moldy strawberries there in the middle so they wouldn't lose money on their moldyass fruit.

  • Me too!

I will add that ever since I started washing them with Veggie Wash and storing them in tupperware, they last sooooo much longer.

  • yes!

or the not quite ripe ones on the bottom, and then having to compare the one your holding to the other ones next to it and hoping you don't end up w/too many moldy/un-ripe strawberries, so annoying

  • I just threw out strawberries we bought wednesday because of this. I was really looking forward to some shortcakes. Buttholes.

  • Saw a wash on pinterest: 1 part vinegar 9 parts water let them dry completely then store in open container in fridge. Haven't tried it yet but just bought some berries to see if it helps.
  • I know. I open up any berries I buy and check them out first because this has happened to me so many times.

  • The faintest hint of mold makes me vomitous and the entire container must be tossed immediately.  ::shudder::

Thanks! Doing okay. She's  been eating every two hours the last few days, and it's killing me. But not my boobs, because I'm EPing and bottle feeding! Party!!! But seriously.. how can she eat so much?  And then she gets gas - OF COURSE. lol. Also, I got shat on for the first time today.

    She's pooping right now.

  • That almost never happens to me now that I buy my strawberries from WF about 95% of the time.  If it did happen I would call WF and tell them.  I'm sure they would refund me.  I've purchaced rancid smelling chicken from them before and they just said bring in the receipt and we will refund you.

I have returned strawberries to the regular grocery store for mold.

Eff that.  If I am spending $5-6 on a carton of organic berries, I better be able to eat all of them.

I'm a cheap psycho like that.
