As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Derby party kids snacks?
Going to a derby party tomorrow and there are going to be handful of kids under 5. Thought I might try to bring a treat that was derby themed they might enjoy. Anyone have any ideas?

DD is having a Derby Day pajama party tonight. I toyed with the idea of a modified Derby Pie (sub vanilla extract for the bourbon and leave out the walnuts b/c of potential allergies...you could leave those in if you know they're ok with your crowd) but I nixed it because I was too tired to make pie dough yesterday. :-) I saw a recipe online somewhere for Derby Pie cupcakes that might make them more kid friendly...don't remember the link but I'm sure it would come up in a Google search. Basically you put Derby Pie filling in the middle of a cupcake, and they looked good.
Virgin Mint Juleps would work. Saw some recipes on line for those, too, but DD isn't a big mint fan so I skipped them.
I decided to make the tie in activities instead of food because I was feeling lazy and couldn't decide on good options. So they're decorating headbands as "crazy hats" like women tend to wear to the race, and watching Secretariat while they eat/play/craft.
