New roommates and my kitty
My sister and her husband are moving in with us, but have been here for a few days as a kind of trial. They will be leaving on Monday and then moving in at the end of June.
My one male cat has had some trouble getting used to it all. He's hiding under the bed again, which I expected, because he's very shy and easily scared. But he's also starting urinating on things, like their bed. I'm making sure he has his favorite safe place to hide and spending time with him when nobody is around. What else can I do to make this easier for him?
Re: New roommates and my kitty
this was my question, too.
No, the litterbox is not in either bedroom. I do have a spare one...should I set it up in his safe room? It's our bedroom, but I could clean it so it wouldn't smell.
I would put one in his safe area. We have one in our room and scoop daily and it doesn't smell until it's time to clean out the box.
Be sure to clean where he has peed with Nature's Miracle. I have also found it helpful to spray those areas with Feliway as well. You may want to get a diffuser going in your house to help calm your kitty. I get mine on amazon. If you buy 6 of them at a time, you can get them for about $12 a bottle.
