Children's book about pitbulls

I thought some of you may be interested in a book I found yesterday, Dog Lost by Ingrid Lee. It has a good pro-pitbull, anti-BSL message and was pretty good. I think it would be good for later elementary kids (like 3rd-6th grade). There was some animal abuse and dog fighting, but I don't think it was too graphic.

I will look into it, thanks! I teach 3rd grade.

My kids love the Puppy Place and Kitty Corner books.  They are about foster puppies and kitties.  I've only had them a couple of years and they are starting to fall apart because they get read so much.

  • Wow this is the first book I've heard about pitbulls. I'll check it out for sure! Thanks for letting me know. I am a preschool teacher but plan on having kids so I'll get it for when they are in the 3rd grade.

  • Thanks for the recs!

My son has a board book called, "My Goodmorning Book," that shows a little boy being followed around the house by his pet pittie. It's not about dogs at all, but the illustrations are pretty and I love how the pibble is part of the family. It's out of print unfortunately, but there are used copies online.
