Growth spurts when you're breastfeeding twins =
a very grouchy mom with nips on fire.
I'm pumping and it's the first time it's actually HURT. Using the shield for a while was a good way to introduce my boobs to nursing -- i haven't had big nip issues -- but holy hell.
I'm not even 100% BF'ing and today still sucked.
Oh yeah and Gabe might be allergic to the formula we use /headsmack. Calling the pedi tomorrow.
Re: Growth spurts when you're breastfeeding twins =
I'm in awe of anyone who has multiples, and I know how much work bfing just one kid is, so I cannot imagine trying to nurse two. My hat's off to you!
Hang in there!
I used fenugreek when my girls were having growth spurts. It really helped me get the supply up.
I would also try to add another pumping session or two during the day. You need to send the message to your body that it needs to produce more milk.
Good luck! I kept up the pumping with my twins for over 6 months.
BAB that's awesome! That's what I want -- to give them at least 50% breast milk for 6 months or more. I have to call the LC about pumping, etc., when I go back to work, and will definitely pick up fenugreek.
My lame issue w pumping is that the boys are awake for a lot more of the day (and have been fussy!!), so I don't really have as much time to pump anymore. I need to stop, though, and just do it. Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks, all! It was a rough day. But I'm glad they're growing, especially Gabriel.
At this point bfing makes it easier. Someone's upset, needs a little snack, whatever, they ask for boobie. So easy.
The only time I get pissy about it, is when someone's gotten a little toothy and I have a sore nip. Then I am like not again.
I like the relief feeling I get from bfing. I like that it's instant comfort. I like that it's quiet time where they stop and I stop and we just sit or lay down.
