Help - Flooring options?

My husband and I have about two rooms left in flipping our first house. We're left with the guest room (that needs to be completed in 3 weeks, my younger brother is living with us this summer!). First thing to figure out is flooring. There was terrible wood paneling on the walls, so we took all that off and are going to put up new sheetrock since the old owners appeared to be hiding gaping  holes in the walls. Anyway, trying to figure out a good solution for flooring. Has anyone used carpet squares before? It's a small room, so we're trying to give it some life/style. OR.. if anyone has any other suggestions? The house is a combo of cream carpet and hardwood, depending on the room. Open to any suggestions!

Re: Help - Flooring options?

  • Carry the same cream carpet through from elsewhere in the house.  A hodgepodge of flooring is bad bad bad.

Carpet tiles are a great idea but very expensive.  They're great in a kid's playroom, but I don't see why you wouldn't just carry the same flooring through.

I would do the same carpet as well. Especially if the room connects to another carpeted area.

  • Another vote to just carry through your existing carpet. It will help things to feel more cohesive, especially if you have smaller spaces/a smaller house,
