NDR - Restaurants In Memphis?
Boss needs to take clients to dinner in Memphis and would like recommendations for great restaurants please.
TIA

Re: NDR - Restaurants In Memphis?
I was just there for a conference. If you're boss wants to go the traditional Memphis ribs route - there is a place called Rendezvous that is popular.

BB Kings on Beale Street is as well.

If he does not care about ribs, there is an excellent wine place called Flight. The food is excellent. It is a bit pricey and it requires reservations in advance for sure.

Avoid a joint called The Flying Saucer - bad service for large groups, speak from experience.
The locals will tell you that the first two are not "good" ribs, however, the good places aren't typical business meetings type places.
For a client wooing dinner, I would look at Bari (Italian), Paulette's (moved into a hotel downtown recently I think, but it's delicious), or Houston's.
If she'll just have time there herself, I highly recommend Gus's Fried Chicken (near downtown, she should not walk there alone, but driving is prob okay), any Huey's, Dyer's hamburgers. Everyone will tell you a different place to eat barbecue. My favorite is Tom's at Getwell and Raines Rd. Everything is delicious but I love the sausage best. H loves the brisket.

I second the recommendation for Paulette's. I've only been at lunch but it's great and a very upscale atmosphere. It recently moved to Mud Island- right by downtown.
Also,l've never been to Flight (located downtown) mentioned above but it's supposed to be amazing. I really want to go so that's another good option.
Slightly further form downtown in Midtown (10-15ish minutes) is Restaurant Iris http://www.restaurantiris.com/ which is also very well-known as one of the best upscale restaurants in town.
These 3 are all very nice & client-wooing type of places, IMO. But there are lots of great other spots that are more affordable options. Also, there is steakhouse type places- Ruths Chris, Flemings, etc but they are further from downtown if you are trying to stay near downtown. Hope this is helpful!
