wellness recall... what now?
We feed wellness white fish and sweet potato. It wasn't part of the recall from what i'm reading, but should i still feel safe feeding it to my dogs? we're out of food, and have to buy a new bag today.
Cos is allergic to chicken and lamb, and this is the only food she's done well on...
so do i buy it and assume/hope it's safe? or buy something else? if something else, what should i get?

Re: wellness recall... what now?
Personally I would probably feed another temporarily. Even though most of the recalled brands have not tested positive for salmonella, it seems like they're recalling more every day. Plus, many stores are just pulling everything from that brand and you might not even be able to find that food.
For a specific protein source, Evo has lots of different "95%" protein sources, my cats eat canned 95% venison. But you will probably have to go to a specialty pet store for Evo. I think Nature's Variety Instinct has rabbit and other non-chicken foods, you might be able to find that at Petco.
According to the website I read, the only Wellness product that was part of the recall was the Super5Mix Large Breed Puppy formula, none of the others. I feed Wellness Core, and since my current bag was not part of the recall, I plan to continue feeding it. It's almost brand new and so should last for another 3 months. If Core was part of the recall, I would switch, even if my bag wasn't impacted.
ETA: Here's the Wellness statement.
I just had a similar situation. My bag of TOTW was recalled, so I had to go buy something new.
Luckily, at my local pet store, they had removed all the recalled brands and had ONE bag of TOTW left that was not part of the recall. So I didn't have to switch. They had signs all over where the recalled stuff had been.
I would head to your normal store. If there is none of what you normally buy, then I would consider something new/switching (even if temporarily). Otherwise food on the shelf at the store should be just fine. I double checked the bag I bought to be sure it wasn't apart of the recall.
While is this true, an older dog or dog with compromised immune systems can be effected. We were in this group with our 13 year old lab.
