Any Raw Feeding Success Stories?
I have a 4 yo English Bulldog Maggie. Last August I started working for a Pet Food Distibutor and decided to switch her from Nutro to Canidae Pure. She didn't care for the taste of Pure and after a couple of months I switched her to TOTW which she loved, but she was gaining waaaay too much.
About a month ago I took her to the vet because she was having a hard time getting around. She had a previous operation on one of her legs and at first I thought it was arthritis. The vet told me she needed to loose weight and wanted to put her on a RX diet, but with being in the pet food industry, I chose not to. After talking to my boss he suggested that I feed raw. Right now we are feeding Primal and Maggie seems to be doing really well.
Does anyone have any success stories since they started feeding raw? Has your dogs overall health changed?

Re: Any Raw Feeding Success Stories?
And here I am
We have 3 dogs and 4 cats that are all fed a prey model raw diet. We have seen huge improvements in their health.
We have a bulldog/pit mix, pit mix, and boxer mix, that are 18 months, 4 years, and 3 years, respectively. They have zero build-up on their teeth, firm stools that disintegrate quickly, no more "dog" smell, very shiny coats, bright alert eyes, and they get a mental and physical workout when they eat their meals. If you want to PM me your email, I have a a whole blurb written out on our progress. I will say, that our dogs were 10 times easier to switch over than one of our 4 kitties (one was feral, and two were fed raw after they weaned). It took her a slow transition of about 6 months. The dogs took to it in one day.
Our pittie mix has/had luxating patellas, and she has a cow gullet or several chicken feet every day to help her mobility and her recovery from surgery.
I would love this too; I've been considering raw for some time but have never been sure of what exactly it entails. I'll PM you my email address. Thanks!

We've fed our dog raw since he was a puppy and we are SO happy with the results. We've never had a food related health issue at all, and he really is an example of great health.
Here are the resources I used to do my research before feeding raw:
This website has a quick start guide, and this is the way I feed my dog... it's my favorite website for raw: http://www.preymodelraw.com/
http://www.skylarzack.com/rawfeeding.htm is another good one

Got it
We are!
We switch Kaya over a year ago now and i'm surprised we didn't switch sooner.
We went through Innova, Canidae, Natural Balance and down to Natural Balance limited ingredient diet when I said enough is enough.
Her energry is back, her hips cause less problem, her weights is easy to maintain, her coat is gorgeous her breath is great her overal spunk is back.
On the kibbles we tried her poop fluctuated with mush and she stunk. Now her poops are tiny and disentegrate.
I'm a member on the yahoo group for rawfeeding and they provide a TON of info!
Good luck
Katelyn helped us switch over to raw in March, and it has been GREAT.
We have a senior GSP who we adopted in 2010, and her breath and teeth were incredibly nasty. I didn't want to put her under to get her teeth cleaned, and read that feeding raw cleans their teeth naturally--her teeth are now bright white and no more stinky breath
She also has a tumor on her side that has been slowly getting smaller since switching to raw.She is no longer overweight, which is great for her arthritis.
Our 4yo Plott is back to a perfect weight and her coat is so shiny. Her teeth are nice and white as well. Both girls have their spunk back, and do a little dance when I open up the freezer to prepare their meals
Katelyn is a wealth of info on feeding prey-model raw, and very, very helpful if you have any questions at all.
ETA: the poop! it's amazing!! it's so much smaller and no more smelly backyard. My husband mows the grass and the poop just goes "poof!" and disintegrates!! It's great because my toddler likes to run around the backyard barefoot, and now that the poop just turns to dust, I'm not chasing her around, fearful of her stepping in a pile of poop.
I am considering switching my beasts to raw. I have one dog and four cats. I just today signed up for the raw feeding yahoo group and am reading.
I am pretty sure my dog will be easy, though i am worried about his stool.
Two of my cats will also probably accept the switch easily.
One cat is uber picky and one only has three teeth. What would any of you recommend in those situations?
I would check out the rawcat forum on yahoo. They can help troubleshoot ideas for picky cats.
We have cats, but we get compliments from people on how soft their coats are. They poop so much less, too! Our vet always compliments us on their weight when we take them in.
They love their raw now. In fact, tonight is gizzards and hearts night, which is their favorite!
5 cats. 1 baby.
