Aspen advice

I live on the edge of the suburbs west of Denver, zone 5.

I love aspen trees.  The sound of the leaves in the wind, the colors in the fall, the bark.  Love.

Of course, they grow wild just a few miles from here, but I've been wary to plant them in our yard because of all the shoots they send up.

Has anyone planted one, and how bad did they try to reproduce?

Re: Aspen advice

  • Never mind... the ladies on my local board shared their experience and it's not great.

I didn't realize the runners would easily spread to neighboring lawns, and I don't want to do that to my neighbors.
