Re: Clean Eating challengers
I do quite well, but I have been doing this just about a year or so already, but not 100%/
No white here - no bread, flour, sugar, potatoes, rice.
No salad dressings - just balsamic vinegar and evoo.
Very few canned foods - just pumpkin now.
I do have a few that I haven't eliminated yet, in the post above, like BBQ, and some things I'm unsure about.
I DO need help with a recipe for clean spaghetti sauce, with ingredients not from a can. Does anyone have something?
I'm doing better than before, but not clean by any stretch. Example, on Saturday I went out with DH and some friends to a local burger place (all organic, local type stuff). Before would have been a cheeseburger and french fries. This time I got a turkey burger on whole wheat and had a very few sweet potato fries. And I avoided ketchup, which is a minor miracle for me.
I was generally ok when I eat at home last week, with the exception of Nature's Own whole wheat bread and organic chocolate milk.
Yeah...I am doing awful too!! So busy, combined with just bad decisions, and craving sugar, since I have been eating sugar. I am also giving into pressure from family..."You have to break your diet for MY cake. It is worth it".
I AM getting back on though. Tonight I will have salmon or steak and vegetables!
Doing pretty good. One thing that I've really been proud of is I cut out the sugar in my coffee. It seems like a little thing, but at 3 or 4 cups a day, and using a pretty big amount of sugar in each one, it makes a difference.
I've also been falling in love with some CE recipes I've found, like salsa chicken. And tomorrow, I'm trying chicken with bok choy. I also found a few duds, like the clean eating shepherd's pie from The Gracious Pantry's site. I liked it, but my husband and son were terrified of it, and it really looked gross.
